Article Length
Does Article Length Matter?
There have been many debates on how long articles should be to satisfy the search engines, and as a writer I have always believed the longer ones were better. What you plan to do with your article makes a difference as well. For example, there are many places today that offer services for backlinking where you submit articles to be placed on high page rank blogs. Because the company in question has many blogs already set up that are getting traffic the length of the article is not so important. However, good quality is still important no matter where you are submitting the article.
Articles on your own personal website, or for a guest blog post need to be long enough to deliver some good engaging content. The search engines have a job to do and that job is making sure people using their search box find answers to their questions and solutions to their problems. Most people surfing the web are doing one of two things. They are either shopping, or looking for an answer on how to do something. It’s that simple. If your articles help people find a product, or solve their problem, you and your site will be a hit.
People have gotten used to finding answers with the click of a mouse and they certainly don’t want to have to weed through a bunch of fluff and filler garbage to get to the root of the answer to their problem. Give people value and your site and articles will rank in the search engines faster than you can imagine.
What is The Best Length For Good Content
Length of an article is not as important as what’s in the article, however, a good article needs three things. It needs an introduction, body(main information), and closing summary. The introduction should immediately let the reader know what tidbits will be coming up in the article. This kind of sneak peak gets them interested enough to continue reading the body of the article. This should flow right into the meat of your article where you tell them how to do something or how to solve a problem. It can even be how to information, just like what we are covering in this article. And last you need to close the article. Sometimes this includes a summary of what they just learned, or it could be just encouraging them to try the information you gave them in the article. It could also have a call to action in the closing.
In my opinion the best length for most articles is 500 to 800 words in length. This gives you plenty of time to explain or teach something without boring the reader. People today want answers fast and don’t want to read five pages on a post. If your subject is something that needs 20,000 words, break it up in to parts. Each post could be a separate part and people could read one part at a time.
Article length is really up to you if you are the writer and the main thing to remember is to always be original and have some great content that no one else is offering. If you need to know some special research techniques, then hop on over to this post listed below. You are the creator, so go with your niche and give it the length it deserves.
