Did you ever wonder what to do if you have a car wreck? Most people don’t think about this ahead of time, but if you learn a few tips, then you will be better prepared if this should happen.

If you are in a car wreck and you are injured, then by all means, get help immediately. But if you are in a wreck with minor or no injuries, then these tips may save you time and money.

Once a minor accident happens, get out of the car, ask if everyone is okay and go from there. If everyone is okay, start exchanging information with the other driver. Get their name, address, phone number, and information off their insurance card. This information you will give to your insurance agent.

Try to get the names and addresses of other people in the car if they will give it to you. And don’t forget witnesses. Always get their information too.  If you see anyone standing on the side of the street watching you exchange information, go over and ask them if they saw the accident. This could be the one thing that saves you from a  ‘he said, she said’ situation.

There is a lot to do when you give a baby shower. There are invitations, decorations, food, and gifts. Many showers are given a theme and some just go with anything baby.  You can amaze your friends by giving a great baby shower with just a few little extra touches. Everyone knows how to do invitations, and can decorate, but sometimes we focus so much on what we have to do, we lose some of our creativity.

Many moms like to thank their guest by giving them a baby shower favor. One of the cutest ones that has been done is where the hostess takes some empty baby food jars and uses them as a gift bag. You can ask friends with babies to save you jars or you can sometimes find them at garage sales and thrift stores. Most hostesses know several months in advance of the party, so you should have plenty of time to gather some.

Take the baby food jars and fill them with colorful jelly beans or other candy. Then you can either decorate the lid, or put a beautiful ribbon around the top of the jar. These go with the theme and make nice thank you gifts.

For your masterpiece you will want to make a pretend cake out of diapers.These are so cute, and once the party is over, the mom has plenty of diapers to get started with.

6.  Save Money By Decorating With Sheets

If you would like to decorate your home on a budget, then you need to consider decorating with sheets. Sheets are a great way to spruce up your home without breaking the bank!  When you consider the price of sewing material per yard versus the price of a flat sheet, you will see how this way to decorate your home can be beneficial.

Sheets come in many colors today and with many types of designs. They can be used in many ways. For instance, you can make curtains or drapes out of sheets, or even cover an entire wall with them. Fabric walls are expensive, and you can make one with sheets for a fraction of the cost. The wall is put on with staples that are the color of your sheet. These can be bought at the hardware store.

You can even make a comforter for your bed out of sheets that will match the home made curtains. It’s so easy to do. To make a comforter with sheets you just pick the designed sheet you want and put batting between it and a solid colored sheet on the back. Sew them together and tack down in a few places, and you have your new comforter.

7.  Make Money By Becoming A Elderly Concierge

Help the elderly by being a “Elderly Concierge”. You may not do all the services listed below, but you can make money by taking them to doctors appointments, cooking, and other things they can not do for themselves.

This service would help the elderly relieve the  stresses associated with everyday tasks from scrubbing their tubs and cleaning out closets, to balancing a checkbook, paying their bills, or cooking a dinner that doesn’t involve a microwave. Helping the elderly type  services could be offered not only for the aged, but also for anyone concerned with their welfare (such as grown children). The peace of mind that comes with knowing that their loved ones are being looked after, when they are not able to, will be appealing. You could charge between $10 and $30 an hour for these services, depending on the services needed.

You can help the elderly by assisting these aging people in much the same way a concierge would. You would either perform needed tasks yourself or find the person or service that these aging customers are in need of.  For instance, if you experienced a problem with your plumbing, you would pull out your handy home guide or do a quick search on the internet, and then you would maneuver yourself into the space under your sink to diagnose the problem. You might even be able to fix the problem yourself.  However, imagine this same scenario from the viewpoint of someone who is older, has more problems with balance and muscle strength, and less ability to locate helpful information. Some older folks might be able to contact a neighbor or grown child however, most do not have this luxury.

8.  Decorating With Silk Plants

Flowers and plants play a large part in most people’s lives. You can’t walk by a restaurant, or visit someone’s home without seeing lovely greenery and flowers. Plants can give you a feeling of serenity too, and decorating your home or office can set the mood you want. Plants and flowers are not just for inside the home either. Many people are decorating their yards with artificial plants and they look fantastic!

To really have some fun, decorate your home with silk or artificial plants. Silk ones look the most realistic but any plants will do just fine. When purchasing your plants you want to buy two different sets. You will buy one set for the cool/cold seasons and another set for the warm/hot seasons. Most plants make it through two seasons so there is no need to buy for all four of them. Once you set out your plants for the season you are good for at least six months.

Outside artificial plants come in all sizes from flowers, to shrubs, and even trees! Small trees about five feet tall are fantastic in the yard. Some even come with blossoms on them. Potted plants and hanging baskets also make beautiful decorations around the patio area.

Planting silk plants is a great way for your yard to always look splendid, and of course there is the up side of not watering, fighting insects, or pruning. You can make your home a showcase without having a green thumb!

Cleaning indoor house plants is easy. For small potted plants and flowers you just put them in a plastic or paper sack, sprinkle in some cornmeal, and shake. The roughness of the cornmeal gets the dust and particles off the leaves. You can also purchase silk plant cleaner for larger plants. Cleaning your outdoor plants is even easier. Just gently spray them down the the water hose and if you want a better shine you can take a soft cloth and dry and rub the leaves.
